Maya snapped her fingers and poof! They were on a beach in January. The sun was shining, and the waves whispered secrets.
Mira, Pax, esto es la costa de Manabí. Aquí, hace mucho tiempo, vivieron culturas increíbles, como los Valdivia, ¡uno de los pueblos más antiguos de América!
Look, Pax, this is the coast of Manabi. Here, a long time ago, incredible cultures lived, like the Valdivia, one of the oldest people in the Americas!
¡Guau! ¿Más antiguos que los Incas?

¡Sí! Imagínate, guagua, ellos hacían cerámica preciosa y vivían en comunidades organizadas. Cultivaban la tierra y pescaban en el mar. ¡Eran súper inteligentes!

Maya señaló a lo lejos. Dicen que por aquí también caminaron gigantes… ¡unos hombres grandotes!

Bueno, hay muchas historias, Pax. Algunas personas creen que vinieron del mar, otros que siempre estuvieron aquí. Lo importante es que esta tierra tiene muchísimas historias que contarnos.
Well, there are many stories, Pax. Some people believe they came from the sea, others that they were always here. The important thing is that this land has many stories to tell us.

Enero es un mes caluroso, sí. Pero las culturas antiguas sabían cómo adaptarse. Construían sus casas con materiales naturales, aprovechaban la brisa del mar y cultivaban alimentos que resistían el calor. ¡Eran muy ingeniosos!
January is a hot month, yes. But the ancient cultures knew how to adapt. They built their houses with natural materials, took advantage of the sea breeze, and cultivated foods that could withstand the heat. They were very resourceful!
