[Maya] ¡Pax, concéntrate! Recuerda, paso uno: ¡el sol naciente!
[Maya] Pax, focus! Remember, step one: the rising sun!
[Pax] ¡Ya, ya! ¡Pero es que esta concha *Spondylus* me hace cosquillas! Mira, Maya, ¡brilla más que el sol!
[Pax] Okay, okay! But this *Spondylus* shell is tickling me! Look, Maya, it shines brighter than the sun!
[Maya] ¡Cuidado! Recuerda lo que dijo la abuela: Esta concha está llena de la sabiduría de nuestros ancestros. No es un juguete. ¡Ahora, imitemos el movimiento del sol!
[Maya] Be careful! Remember what Grandma said: This shell is full of the wisdom of our ancestors. It’s not a toy. Now, let’s imitate the movement of the sun!
Pax se pone en posición, estirando los brazos hacia el este. [Pax] ¡Listo! ¿Así?
Pax gets into position, stretching his arms towards the east. [Pax] Ready! Like this?
[Maya] ¡Casi! Piensa en los astrónomos de Bahía. Ellos no solo veían el sol, sino que entendían cómo se movía, cómo marcaba el tiempo para sembrar y cosechar. ¡Visualiza eso!
[Maya] Almost! Think of the Bahía astronomers. They didn’t just see the sun, they understood how it moved, how it marked the time for planting and harvesting. Visualize that!
[Pax] ¡Ah! ¡Ya entiendo! ¡Es como… un calendario gigante en el cielo! Entonces, movemos los brazos lentamente, como el sol durante todo el día.
[Pax] Ah! I get it! It’s like… a giant calendar in the sky! So, we move our arms slowly, like the sun throughout the day.
Empiezan a moverse lentamente, imitando el arco del sol. [Maya] ¡Eso es! Y ahora, el paso de la luna. Los astrónomos de Bahía también estudiaban la luna y las estrellas.
They begin to move slowly, imitating the arc of the sun. [Maya] That’s it! And now, the moon’s movement. The Bahía astronomers also studied the moon and the stars.
Pax levanta la concha *Spondylus*. [Pax] Entonces, la concha representa las estrellas, ¿verdad? ¡Brillantes y misteriosas!
Pax raises the *Spondylus* shell. [Pax] So, the shell represents the stars, right? Bright and mysterious!
[Maya] ¡Exacto! Los astrónomos de Bahía eran muy inteligentes. Sabían cuándo vendrían las lluvias, cuándo plantar el maíz… ¡Eran como científicos del cielo!
[Maya] Exactly! The Bahía astronomers were very intelligent. They knew when the rains would come, when to plant the corn… They were like scientists of the sky!
[Pax] ¡Qué *chévere*! ¡De una! Entonces, vamos a bailar como los astrónomos, con el sol y la luna, ¡y la concha *Spondylus* como las estrellas!
[Pax] How cool! Let’s do it! So, let’s dance like the astronomers, with the sun and the moon, and the *Spondylus* shell as the stars!
