This follows the adventure of a little boy who is unable to sleep, so he goes on an adventure to see if any of his animal friends can help him to sleep. He visits animal after animal, attempting to sleep how they do (like a bat in a tree or a mole in the ground), before finally finding that he’s feeling tired and just wants to sleep in his own bed.

This book that has good rhyme and rhythm which I can read slowly and calmly, lulling my kids off to sleep. The illustrations are great and the very brief snapshot of the sleeping habits of various animals is a nice touch.

My kids don’t object whenever I select it as the final read of the night, which means it’s a winner for me.
